We are seeking to recruit an IT Support team member. who will assist in providing technical assistance and support across the company, resolving IT-related issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure.
Reporting to: Manager, IT Support
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of IT infrastructure in the organization – offsite and onsite;
- User technological support, troubleshooting and identification of technology-related hitches and offering feasible, viable technological solutions, both remotely and on site;
- System administration: routine maintenance and upgrades across all company servers;
- Local premise cloud infrastructure maintenance, set up and configuration;
- Email server set up, configuration, maintenance and administration;
- Setup, maintenance and configuration of the PBX system in the organization for VoIP calling, including the pilot lines;
- Training of end users on the various use of entities such as the server, ERP, pilot lines and any other technological entity based on need;
- Monitoring of systems to ensure minimal or no downtime at all for the various entities including emails, the documents’ server, all telephone lines, the ERP and cloud based servers on Digital Ocean;
- Data backup and storage for redundancy, for both premise-based infrastructure and cloud-based infrastructure;
- Restoration of any downtime on the various systems for business continuity;
- Security monitoring on the various systems, server hardening & security best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity & availability of critical organization data;
- Training of users on information security, data and awareness on security while handling company-sensitive data;
- Setup, maintenance, administration and set up of the virtual private network [VPN] for remote working;
- Hardware repairs and replacement of parts when machines and electronic gadgetry develop problems;
- Printer maintenance, user training and administration, including monitoring of toner levels for optimal performance;
- Email security by ensuring that emails communication is secure through monitoring of server logs, quarantining of emails and analysis of logs to identify any unusual traffic;
- Virtualization in the operations of cloud infrastructure for maximization of hardware resources optimally;
- Monitoring and maintenance and administration of the CCTV system, bio metrics access and preventive maintenance;
- Continuous research on the improvement of existing systems for optimal productivity of users.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field;
- Any networking qualification, an added advantage, but not mandatory;
- 2 years relevant experience in IT support especially on desktop support;
- Proven hands on experience in ICT infrastructure handling, set up, commissioning and maintenance;
- Knowledge of the UNIX and Linux Operating Systems is preferred;
- Knowledge of Linux servers administration;
- Knowledge of virtualization;
